It's always nice to have the right tools for the job. Here are some of Sew Eco Chic's favorites:
Needles and Pins . . . and Thimbles The black velvet stand is padded and over 25 years old. It was a necklace holder I found in a retail shop that was going out of business. I love having my sewing needles so accessible. The big magnetic pin holder is new, and I love its size. |
Some of our collection of buttons. There are old, new, vintage, wood, plastic, shell, brass . . . and more. |
Fun stuff in vintage glass jars I bought at a local auction about 20 years ago. They make storage easy. Hair Clips, Vintage Yoyo's, Small Wood Thread Spools |
Well . . . I have a big scissor collection - mainly because I never seem to get them sharpened and just buy new ones. |
Crochet materials - hooks and different kinds of threads and yarns |
Serger thread cones and hand sewing thread in many colors |
One thing I find really hard to work with is the paper patterns of today. It is almost impossible to get them back into the little paper envelop they come in. So, I have many of my most used patterns in this storage system I created . . . a filing rack where I can fold the pattern pieces inside and put the envelope on the cover of a hanging file folder. Works great for me.

Headbands in progress: Vintage Yoyo's in the center of multi-layered silk daisies |
My baby lock evolve - love this serger |
The Pfaff 2056. Great sewing machine. My second Pfaff in 30 years. Began my sewing life with a Sears Kenmore my mom bought for me when I was 10.
These are some of my favorite things that make my sewing days so enjoyable! Stay Eco Chic . . . Marie |
